Your curiosity.
Your information.
A plain-language guide to the information used by the current game. Updated 21 October 2026.
Accounts and saved games
Signing in uses managed Neon authentication. Your display name, email and authentication information are used to provide your account. GeoJig uses a Neon database for account records, matchmaking rooms, submitted answers, game results and signed-in XP. Authentication sessions use cookies or equivalent browser session storage as required by the sign-in service.
What other players can see
Your display name and game scores are visible to an opponent. Global XP leaderboards show display names, ranks, levels, XP and game counts. They do not display account emails, authentication tokens or billing information. Choose a display name you are comfortable making public. Invitation links can give someone access to an open room, so share private invitations with care.
Information on your device
Your browser stores settings such as the sound preference, personal bests, Atlas discoveries, guest XP and room-rejoin information. Interrupted solo XP submissions may be saved on your device so that they can be retried for the same account. Clearing site data can remove device-only progress and sign you out. Online guest play also uses a random first-party, HttpOnly guest cookie (up to 90 days) to link server-validated progress to this browser. Signing up or signing in can claim that progress for one account. Clearing the cookie can prevent transfer. Guest XP is not public until claimed. Older unverified local scores stay separate.
Website analytics and hosting
GeoJig uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated page views, referrers and device, browser and location statistics. The analytics script does not use third-party tracking cookies. GeoJig removes query parameters and URL fragments from reported page URLs and does not deliberately send names, emails, room codes or game answers as custom analytics events. We also measure a limited set of funnel events: Play now clicks, actual game starts and completions, results sign-up views and clicks, sign-up opens/submissions/successes/failures, and guest XP claims. Event properties are limited to the entry source, mode, game type and guest/account status. No form contents, emails, passwords, account IDs or guest identifiers are sent with them. This is separate from the cookies needed for account sign-in and guest progress.
Vercel hosts the website and its server functions and may process request information, including network information, to operate and protect the service. Read Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation for details of its analytics service.
Contact messages and payments
The Contact page opens your own email app. When you send an email to geojig.contact@gmail.com, Gmail processes that message and the sender details included in it. The contact page does not upload a message through a GeoJig form. Please do not include passwords, verification codes or card details.
Plus checkout is not currently available. If subscriptions launch, the payment and privacy information will be updated to reflect the active checkout and billing arrangements.
My Earth and Survival
Correct answers from completed games can save country discoveries to your account’s personal Earth. Survival saves your shuffled run, remaining lives, progress and latest answer after each turn. An account can also keep the Ultimate Explorer achievement for completing all 193 countries in one Survival run. Your personal Earth collection is private. The Survival leaderboard publicly shows your display name, best single-run country total, rank, run count and Ultimate Explorer badge; guest previews use the existing guest cookie and can be claimed with that guest profile. Older completed multiplayer answers can be imported where verified. Historical local-only Atlas records cannot be verified into the cloud collection.
Keeping and removing information
Signed-in XP and game records are kept to provide progression, history and service operation. Room access and practice submissions have expiry rules, but an expiry does not necessarily mean the underlying database record is immediately deleted. Device-only information stays in your browser until it is cleared or replaced. This page does not promise a fixed automatic deletion period.
To ask about access to, correction of or deletion of account information, email geojig.contact@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify the account before handling a request. Never include your password or a sign-in code.
